Engagement Photos at Hamilton Beach… with Film!

Kayle and Griffin met on Hinge. A lot of people tell me that rather sheepishly, as if it’s not interesting or something. But I always think it’s such a beautiful way to meet someone. It can be so hard to have luck on a dating app, and finding someone you want to spend the rest of your life with… that’s something to be celebrated.

During our initial meeting, Griffin excitedly asked me if I shoot on film at all. I returned his enthusiasm, as I love when people ask me that! I love shooting on film. I don’t have the equipment to shoot a full wedding on film, but I love when people ask me to bring my camera along on top of my digital camera. Film is such a wonderful medium, full of history. I love getting to experiment with it. In fact, I’m thinking of releasing a blog post with all my favourite personal film photos!

When I met up with Kayle and Griffin at Hamilton Beach, Griffin offered me a number of his rolls of film to shoot on (usually I just bring my own). He even developed the film, and scanned it himself. It was very impressive!

After the shoot, they hired me for their wedding. And of course, I’ll be bringing my film camera.
