Magical Forest Engagement Shoot

Rachael and Joel met by chance.

Standing in a Costco aisle, Rachael received a text from her best friend asking her if she wanted to go out. She hesitated, because, like the rest of us, staying in is often more alluring. Relaxing on a Friday in sweatpants and a movie you’ve watched a thousand times, why not?

But something told Rachael to go, so she ignored the call of the couch and headed out with her best friend. And that was the night she met Joel.

You never know when once choice might change your life.

Rachael and Joel met with me back in February, and they mentioned Centennial Park in Grimsby. I had never been there, but if it’s important to them, then of course I’m happy to check it out. Fast forward a few months, and I’m rolling up to Centennial Park on a beautiful summer afternoon. And my jaw drops.

I have never seen a place so… magical. The light dancing through the trees, the stream running through the tall grass, the willow tree that dominates the horizon. I felt like I was in a fantasy novel.

Rachael and Joel had a vision for this shoot, and I believe I was able to execute it. They look straight out of Pride and Prejudice.

Take a look at a few more of my favourites below.
